Elia - Automatic Translator App Review
Elia is a free automatic translator app developed by Elhuyar Hizkuntza eta Teknologia for Android devices. It uses point technology based on artificial intelligence and neural networks, supporting six languages: Basque, Spanish, French, English, Catalan, and Galician. The app allows users to translate any text they want by simply typing it into the application, selecting the language they want to translate it to, and clicking the "Translate" button.
What makes Elia unique is that it can be used outside the app as well. Users can copy any text they are reading on their device, click on the Elia icon, and the translated text will appear in the app's text box, ready to be copied and pasted. Elhuyar has been a reference in the treatment of Basque and neighboring languages since its creation in 1972, and has been involved in language technology research since 2002, leading to the creation of this automatic translation app.
